RAM-Trio is a versatile band from Mumbai. It was formed in May 2014 with three members: Rahul Solanki, Aarush Purabiya, Mujeeb Shaikh and five months later they welcomed their guitarist Tushar Verma into the band. The band is named after the first three members of the band; the initials of their first names make up the first half of the band name. The logo, conceptualized by Mujeeb Shaikh, includes an “र” (a Sanskrit alphabet,) “A” (an English alphabet) and “م” (found in the Urdu language) and stands for the unity that exists between people despite the difference in cultures and beliefs.
The band has two vocalists, Rahul who sings at a low octave and Aarush, who sings at a higher octave and together they create magic on stage. Rahul and Aarush have been singing together since childhood and hence, their duets are always harmonious and in sync.
RAM-Trio’s other member are Mujeeb, who handles percussion and Tushar, who plays the guitar.
“It was a wonderful experience for me watching Rahul Pais sing and play music. Thanks for a wonderful effort by NSPA in putting up performances. I have never seen something like this at churchgate station.”
“I reached Vashi station tired and worn out from the days work, to see a crowd formed around a man, went to investigate, and I saw a man performing a song which sounded like Sufi music to me. His voice echoed through the granite corridors of the station and the merry strums of his guitar filled the air with melancholy. I stood there hearing his song about finding God in ones own belief, reminded me of Kabir ke Dohe which i had read when i was a kid.”
“I loved d performance of pratyul joshi and rahul bakshi at borivali station on 25th april.”
“Very nice. Wonderful concept.”
