Music, for Avinash Lamba, is the compass that guides him through life. Born into a family of musicians through the generations, it was no surprise that a young prodigy was in the making.
Dabbling in multi percussion instruments like the Tabla, Dholak and Side rhythm under the tutelage of his father, Satish Lamba , Eknath Pimple,Vivek Kulkarni and Sadanand Nanipali, Avinash had a well-received debut . Currently, a full time accompanying artist, Avinash has to his credit several students who he has single handedly trained and prepared for competitive music forums, which according to him is the best satisfaction a music practitioner and teacher can experience.
“Very good job. Public gets exposure to good music. Also you guys play very well.”
“I reached Vashi station tired and worn out from the days work, to see a crowd formed around a man, went to investigate, and I saw a man performing a song which sounded like Sufi music to me. His voice echoed through the granite corridors of the station and the merry strums of his guitar filled the air with melancholy. I stood there hearing his song about finding God in ones own belief, reminded me of Kabir ke Dohe which i had read when i was a kid.”
“Very calming. Feels good at the railway station”
