Naatakwaale was formed in September 2013 by Delhi University and Bhartendu Natya Academy Lucknow alumnus, Debanshu Shekhar. This group supports the love for performing arts and is run by a group of talented and trained young artists.
The group is involved in street plays, stage plays, theatre workshops, stand up performances, one act plays etc. They have successfully showcased more than 500 performances of street and stage plays and conducted 100 Theatre workshops all over India.
‘Naatakwaale,’ as the name suggests, is what they are and where they belong. These vibrant theatre artists dream to make theatre a part of everyone’s life, in whichever way possible.
“I reached Vashi station tired and worn out from the days work, to see a crowd formed around a man, went to investigate, and I saw a man performing a song which sounded like Sufi music to me. His voice echoed through the granite corridors of the station and the merry strums of his guitar filled the air with melancholy. I stood there hearing his song about finding God in ones own belief, reminded me of Kabir ke Dohe which i had read when i was a kid.”
“Very nice. Sound system should be allowed.”
“This is a best way to educate people or generate awareness for citizens.”
“Thanks to u and ur authentic orchestra.. just experience it at churhcgate stn”
