(Folk Fusion)

Folk Masti is a 3 piece folk/fusion band from Mumbai. The fusion group combines folk music with western elements and is influenced by folk rock bands like The Raghu Dixit Project, Indian Ocean, Swarathma & similar artists. Band has compositions that convey positive messages to the society & bring alive the culture of folk music. Band comprises of -

Vipul Panchal (Vocals & Guitar)
Mumbai-based singer-songwriter is the founder, vocalist and guitarist of the band.He has graduated from Trinity College, London, with Grade 5 in acoustic guitar. He draws inspiration from Raghu Dixit, Indian Ocean, Susmit Sen and Swarathma.

Sachin Guldagde (Keys)
He has graduated from Trinity College, London with Grade 6 in piano. He has been playing the keyboard for the past 9 years, and has recently started playing the melodica for the band.

Roshan Aade (Percussions).
Having been gifted a tabla at age 9, he quest to master the instrument started back then, as a child. A multi-percussionist, he plays several instruments like the drums, dholak, djembe, octopad, daf and many others. He is inspired by legendary musician Ustad Zakir Hussain.

They keep collaborating with other artists to create a unique soundscape.

Folk Masti's first Official music video "Aamchi Mumbai" was released on Pepsi Mtv Indies in Dec'14. The song is about Mumbai. It is about loving the place we live in and coping with everyday life, so ‘Aamchi Mumbai’ is a song to express our love for the city we live in. The band has released their Second Official music video"Jago India" on 15th Aug'16.

They are marked at Rank 28 in Sennheiser Top 50 emerging bands of India contest, The contest was judged by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy & Salim-Sulaiman.

Also the band was ranked second in Band Baja Contest 2015 organised by NCPA (National Centre for performing arts) Mumbai & performed an opening act for 'Strings in the wind' concert as tribute to Mandolin maestro U. Sriniwasji on 23rd October at Experimental theatre.

The band has also won 'Artist Aloud Hunt' by Hungama Digital and performed an Opening set for "Raghu Dixit Project" Live In Concert at Metro n Music fest.
