She remembers a childhood of waking up to Goan folk songs in her father’s voice every morning. In her growing years, she picked up Manglorian folk songs from her grandmother. Her folk songs are an eclectic mix of songs of celebration as well as songs dotting the countryside of Mangalore. Heloise thus carries a legacy of folk music with her each time she performs.
