DIY of the Week – Rock Tic Tac Toe

As another month draws to a close, we leave this last Monday with possibly the easiest and simplest DIY yet! No memory of childhood is complete without the ever-favorite game of tic-tac-toe, and this easy project gives you its handmade version, small and compact enough to carry with you wherever you go. Not only are the things you need simple and easy to find, the actual process takes just two steps, and these are so easy that even kids can do them (so no excuses left for you!)

Well then, let’s get this show on the road.

What you’ll need:

1. Ten small, smooth rocks

2. Paints of your choice

3. Paintbrush

4. Canvas drawstring pouch (you can make your own too)

What to do:

Step 1

Clean and dry the rocks completely. Once done, all you have to do is paint half of them with X, and the other half with O. If you feel experimental, you can always change it up by painting the two sets of rocks with different colors, or even different designs altogether.  Let dry.

Step 2

Take the canvas pouch and create the tic tac toe base design on its outside. You can do this with a permanent marker or with basic black paint.

Step 3

As promised, there is no Step 3! Once you’ve done the above two steps, your very own portable tic tac toe game is ready for a game or two. Once done, all you have to do is store the rocks back in the pouch, and off you go!
